The University of Kentucky celebrated the accomplishments of our Fall 2020 graduates with a virtual commencement ceremony on Friday, December 4th at 2 pm EST. UK plans to hold an in-person ceremony to celebrate the achievements of our 2020 graduates when it is healthy and safe to do so. The health and safety of the UK community are our top priorities.

Commencement is one of the best days of the year. It’s a celebration of our most sacred purpose—educating our students and preparing a new generation for lives of meaning and purpose. Though we had to honor you virtually in the interest of health and safety, your accomplishments are equally important, valuable, and worthy of recognition.

Please note, these celebrations were not a replacement for the traditional UK Commencement Ceremonies. Similar to May 2020, the university is fully committed to honoring the December and May 2020 graduates at an appropriate time, when it can be done in a safe and healthy way. As a future UK graduate, you will have earned the moment to wear your graduation regalia and walk across a stage.
